Your Sanity Called...
...it asked for a mid-year check-in
I had a surprise doctor visit last week! đ©ș
Donât worry, nothing bad sparked the visit. It was a surprise because, organized as I am (and I am nothing if not organized), it wasnât on my calendar.*
They started sending me appointment reminders and confirmations outtaâ nowhere, and because it was right in the middle of a big project last week, I almossttttt cancelled. But I thought better of it. I had some questions, welcomed the opportunity for a check-in, and Iâm a sucker for a chance to get some bloodwork. âPrevention is the best medicineâ (so they say).
Several unpleasant diseases run in my family, and I like to be on top of things when it comes to whatâs runninâ through my veins.
If I had it my way, Iâd be getting blood tests every week. Doctor Google would miss me and my searches too much, âDoes this ache mean Iâm dying?â âHow about this one?â âWhat about this red spot?â đ
I have the same philosophy in my business. (minus Googling every last symptom)
I like to take the pulse on the regular and make sure the heart of my business is still beating strong.
I make sure all systems are thriving, in balance, and everything Iâm committed to is getting the nutrients its need.
This past weekend, after a glorious Friday chat with my friend about the state of affairs in our businesses and lives, and a fun Saturday of learning with the New England Podcasters Group**, I took Sunday to take an âIntention Inventory.â
The questions at hand: Was I accomplishing, thus far, what Iâve set out to in 2026? If no, why? What needs to stay and what needs to go?
6 Months into the Year⊠6 Months to GoâŠ
How are things going for YOU?
If your business had a body, what would things look like under the surface?
Is the pulse alive and thriving or slowly dragging its feet forward?
Are you giving your time, energy, and efforts to what matters most?
Do you have time for your life outside of business?
Are you showing up where you want to be?
This week, I wanted to share two resources for you to conduct a check-in and do some reflecting of your own!

Resource #1) Your Mid-Year Marketing Checkup
I recorded this episode + wrote this blog last year and recently revamped it as part of a bigger blog revamp project. I dusted it off, and let me tell you, itâs as good as new!
I guide you through 5 simple steps to reviewing your business and checking in on your goals. From messaging to financials to dream/nightmare clients, I got you covered in this one.
Resource #2) Being Intentional Where You Show Up
Infinite options tug at you daily. With limited bandwidth and a desire to reduce digital distractionâŠ
How do you decide where to actually put your time?
Oh, and is social media for the birds at this point?
How do you create a business that doesnât leave you completely exhausted?
In this episode, weâre going to answer those questions (and then some) as we walk through where to show up online and off and how to be intentional with our limited time and energy.
Donât wannaâ be your own phlebotomist?
Did you know I offer Strategy Sessions for this very thing!? We spend 90 minutes together on Zoom, deep-diving into all things YOU and your marketing. I guide you in refining your messaging, building a solid marketing plan, and working towards your goals with clarity and momentum! Oh, did I mention I also give you an itemized, detailed list with the actions to take?! Itâs $275 for the session, and youâll walk away with enough jet engine in your pack to fly through the second half of 2026. đ
Shoot me an email (or hit reply) if this sounds like something you need: emily@emilyaborn.com
P.S. Donât you just love a good asterisk? Itâs like a breadcrumb trail from my brain to yours đ€Ș
*I realized the reason the dr.âs appointment wasnât on my calendar is cuzâ they no longer schedule my next visit with my actual input⊠they just let me walk out, leave the office, go on my merry, happy, jolly jolly way, bye-bye autonomyâthe next yearly appointment just magically appears in the portal, selected entirely by them, not me! đ«Ș They clearly donât realize who theyâre dealing with here⊠nobody touches Emily Abornâs calendar without her consent.
**If youâre local, come join our super fun community for yourself. Iâd love to save you a seat next to me in our group of seasoned, soon-to-be, and someday podcasters. Write me back if youâre interested in being my guest! đđ»
